Introducing the latest collection of art-inspired cocktails at Kerridge's Bar & Grill

Did you know - Kerridge's Bar & Grill not only celebrates exceptional British cuisine and personalised service, but also pays homage to a striking collection of art within its walls?

As you enter through the restaurant's entrance on Northumberland Avenue, look towards the stylish bar area and the Kerridge's-green wall for a very special display. The 'Voices in British Art' exhibition, curated by gallerist West Contemporary, showcases some of the country's best contemporary artists.

Inspired by the pieces, our expert Kerridge's bar team have curated a special new collection of cocktails named 'A Thousand Words'. The menu offers guests an opportunity to experience Kerridge's Bar & Grill on an entirely new multisensory level. Let us tell you about a few of our favourites...

Colourful powders above the Painter's Palette cocktail

Painter's Palette

"This cocktail is a fruity whiskey sour that sparkles with springtime flavours and celebrates a blend of mixology and art."

'Painter's Palette' is inspired by Boo Saville's soothing abstract paintings, renowned for their deceptively simple but masterful blends of colour.

When it comes to the cocktail's ingredients, House of Suntory's Toki Blended Japanese Whisky aligns perfectly with Saville's artistic method. Translated from Japanese, 'toki' means time, a concept that both artist and whisky producer respect in their separate processes.

Ingredients: Toki Blended Japanese Whisky, Rose Liqueur, Vanilla Syrup, Raspberries, Citrus, Egg White

Artist Robi Walters is well-known for transforming unwanted materials into striking pieces of art. His work often explores the rules of sacred geometry and reflects the sense of calm he seeks in his regular meditation practice.

In 2019, Walters embraced the role of Artist-in-Residence at Aston Martin. He collected unused scraps of leather from the brand's factory and used them to recreat their iconic winged logo. Two years later, he worked on a similar project to mark 60 years since the release of the first James Bond film.

Our 'Vesper Tonic' cocktail "...is a sophisticated and sustainable twist on James Bond’s favourite cocktail, the vesper martini."

Ingredients: Ketel One Vodka, Rescued Champagne & Gin Vermouth, Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic

Kintsugi Fizz

Much like self-taught urban artist Fin DAC's work, the 'Kintsugi Fizz' is heavily inspired by Asian culture and ingredients.

"We first infuse Roku Gin with jasmine tea, and then blend with strawberry and lychee to create our elegant champagne cocktail," Jordan tells us.

The golden garnish is inspired by kintsugi or "golden joinery" - the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with golden lacquer. As well as looking beautiful, kintsugi is an emotive metaphor for embracing imperfections and highlighting them, instead of hiding them, as part of the healing process.

Ingredients: Roku Gin, Jasmine Tea, Lychee, Strawberry, Citrus, Champagne

Apollo Spritz cocktail next to marble bust

Apollo Spritz

The team describes the 'Apollo Spritz' as "light and refreshing with pops of zesty fruit notes."

The cocktail symbolises the environment and cuisine enjoyed by the Ancient Greek Gods. Mediterranean citrus and wine are believed to have featured heavily in their diets.

It's inspired by the works of Matt Roe, a contemporary artist and tattooist who launched his practice with a series of pieces called, 'Apollo'. The 'tattooed' orange peel garnish on our cocktail represents Roe's dynamic work.

Ingredients: Tanqueray Gin, Passionfruit, Rosé Wine, Pink Grapefruit, Citrus, Soda
