About this Offer
The Events Coordinator is responsible for co-ordinating MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Events) and other segment group movement programmes from the moment the contract is signed until the client checks out and settles the bill. This person is crucial in ensuring that the events they co-ordinate are stress-free and successful, in line with Corinthia Standards.
Every event, whether with or without accommodation, will be allocated a co-ordinator as their assistant from arrival through to departure, ensuring smooth and efficient co-ordination. The Events Co-ordinator will be the main reference point for both the hotel and the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and innovations in the industry.
- Maintain an awareness of competitor activity, developments, and best practices, sharing relevant information with the team.
- Research and understand the clients they are working with.
- Be customer-focused.
- Be involved in pre-conference organisation and site inspections for confirmed groups.
- Check the organiser's guest room and meeting rooms prior to the client's arrival.
- Welcome the client upon arrival and bid them farewell upon departure.
- Be fully familiar with the client’s programme and review it upon arrival to make any necessary adjustments.
- Be present throughout the event, ensuring smooth execution and checking in with the client at key moments.
- Have a thorough understanding of AV products and services to support the client immediately.
- Carry out exit interviews with the client.
- Have the technical skills to prepare event documentation.
- Ensure Opera Sales & Catering is always up to date with client information and follow-up dates.
- Attend sales meetings and other relevant departmental meetings.
- Conduct appropriate site inspections and client entertainment activities, including evenings and weekends if required.
- Ensure all client interactions are properly recorded in Opera Sales & Catering for operational efficiency.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Corinthia Hotel to effectively sell its offerings and provide accurate information to clients.
- Establish, maintain, and ensure adherence to Sales and Corinthia Hotel policies.
- Effectively resolve guest issues that arise during the sales process, escalating matters to leadership when necessary.
- Manage ad-hoc projects as required to meet business needs.
- Support hotel operations during peak demand to ensure client satisfaction.
- Refer business opportunities from other market sectors to the appropriate sales team members.
- Embody and promote Corinthia’s values and philosophy.
- Work closely with the leadership team to understand business needs and develop a relevant sales plan to support strategic objectives.
- Lead by example.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with designated clients.

Health & Safety

- The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided or recommended by the Company is mandatory.
- Report any defects in the building, plant, or equipment according to hotel procedures.
- Ensure that any accidents involving staff, guests, or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with the correct procedures.
- Attend statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and be fully familiar with and adhere to all related regulations and guidelines.
As the hotel’s level of business varies considerably, flexibility in attitude, approach, and working hours is required.

Talent Profile
Experience
- Ideally, a minimum of one year's experience in a similar role.
- Previous hotel experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Exceptional IT skills, with a preference for knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
