Bianca Olimpia Abăcioaei's creative proposal for Corinthia Bucharest's visual identity—a print that will feature across the hotel's amenities—was chosen after a competition that drew submissions from several local artists. Her design was celebrated for capturing the hotel’s distinct Belle Époque charm while reimagining the grandeur of Grand Hotel du Boulevard’s golden era with a modern, minimalist elegance.

Bianca drew inspiration from the vibrancy and elegance of the Belle Époque era. Her design captures the essence of a time when luxury and decorative arts were ubiquitous, and art and fashion seamlessly merged in a shared expression of beauty and human creativity.

Bianca Olimpia Abăcioaei

Bianca Olimpia Abăcioaei, professionally known as ABO, is an artist and interior architect. She studied interior architecture at the "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest.

Her work is characterised by graphic and decorative elements, blending pure, organic lines and forms with intricate details and monumental, contemplative figures. Often exploring themes of dreaming, her illustrations feature cosmic symbols and motifs inspired by personal experiences, including travel and literature, which leave a lasting mark on her imagination.

The essence of her art is defined by a striking black and gold colour palette. ABO has showcased her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Romania—including Bucharest, Brașov, Cluj and Botoșani—as well as internationally in London, Athens and Rome.

“This collaboration offered me a unique opportunity to explore new forms of expression beyond my usual creations. I was inspired by the specificity of the Belle Époque era and the Art Nouveau style, with its fluid lines, to design a character that blends the traditions of decorative art with elements of contemporary modernity. The scenographic setting of the illustration draws from the hotel’s architecture. The centerpiece of the work is a character embodying the vibrant energy of the Belle Époque, defined by elegance and refinement but reinterpreted in a modern and minimalist manner.”
