Corinthia Hotels among finalists at the Annual Hospitality Awards

15 January 2008

15th January 2008 - Corinthia Hotels’ dedicated Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Events (MICE) programme ‘Events@Corinthia’ last month featured among the three finalists in the ‘Best Customer Satisfaction Programme in Luxury Hotels’ category of the Annual Hospitality Awards 2007, organised by the MKG Group in Paris. Before an audience of nearly 700 leaders and partners of the international hotel industry, the Hospitality Awards 2007 were awarded on November 22 at the Hilton Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

Today, the 8th annual ceremony of the Hospitality Awards, created by MKG Group, the European leader in consulting for the hotel and tourism industry directed by Georges Panayotis, has become the reference for rewarding innovation and excellence in the industry. The Advisory Board for the Awards, a panel of international leaders in the industry which determines the categories and criteria for the selection of candidates, was this year presided over by Luis Del Olmo, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Sol Melia Hotels. In the context of the current global explosion of development of the hotel industry, the Hospitality Awards serve to recognize the great ideas, innovations, and talents of the sector. As a result, the Awards provide a catalyst to push the development of the hotel industry to be more innovative, more dynamic and more responsible.

The international jury was presided by Clara Gaymard, President of General Electric France. The Corinthia Event Promise Events@Corinthia is a clear indication of Corinthia’s commitment to the MICE market. The elements of Corinthia’s Event Promise are based on personal service and attention to detail. The core of the programme is the Corinthia Event Assistant, a personal contact 24 hours a day dedicated to each conference or event. This is the same Event Assistant that would become the personal “Travelling Event Assistant” for every organiser of groups with 300 or more room nights. The planner can have the same dedicated Events@Corinthia staff person who assisted them for their meeting in the first Corinthia Hotel, travel to a second (or more) Corinthia location prior to their next meeting, where they brief the new Corinthia team on the special needs and requirements of that group.

In tune with Events@Corinthia motto, “Stress–free and Success-full”, the Corinthia team is always looking for new ways to facilitate the meeting planners work and offer the ultimate in resources. With this objective in mind, Corinthia recently launched the new Events@Corinthia Web Page (www.Events@Corinthia.com), designed as a one-stop shop web site for meeting planners, making it easy to search by hotel, destination, or date, and check for promotions and special offers available at all Corinthia Hotels. The guaranteed 24-hour response to RFP (Requests for Proposal) by Events@Corinthia is also another industry first.
