The Corinthia Bab Africa hotel in Tripoli, Libya, recently had the pleasure of accommodating Malta’s President Dr Edward Fenech Adami and his delegation during a formal visit to the Libyan capital for talks with Libyan Leader Muammar Gheddafi.
The entire delegation, that included government ministers Dr Tonio Borg and Mr John Dalli, was very impressed with the warm reception accorded to them in the hotel and were full of praise for the hotel’s team members, facilities and services.
Addressing hotel general manager Mounir Sami, Malta’s Ambassador to Libya Joseph Cassar wrote: ‘I have the distinguished pleasure of transmitting the gratitude and appreciation of the President of Malta for the excellent service and generous assistance provided by the Corinthia Bab Africa Hotel executives and staff during His Excellency's two-day stay in Tripoli.
The President also requested me to congratulate and thank all Corinthia Bab Africa Hotel personnel who were engaged in the preparation of the reception. The very high standards in the setting, the originality and quality of the food and in the excellent service, were undoubtedly key factors in contributing to the success of an event that enabled The President to meet so many involved in furthering the continued enhancement and consolidation of Maltese-Libyan relations.
In personally meeting Corinthia Bab Africa Hotel executives and staff from Malta, Libya and other nations, the President was impressed by the perfect harmony with which they daily contribute to the hosting industry of the Great Jamahiriya and to the outstanding reputation of the Corinthia Group, the flag-ship of Maltese-Libyan investment.’
Commenting on the official visit general manager Mounir Sami said that the hotel has hosted many world leaders, famous people and high powered delegations over the years, but the hotel’s team members and himself always felt a special tinge of pride and honour when Maltese dignitaries stayed at the hotel, more so when it is the President of the Republic.
