Corinthia Hotel Continues Worldwide Expansion Plans

 In addition to the announcement to open Corinthia’s first five-star deluxe hotel in London, Corinthia Hotels plan to rapidly expand the brand and is poised to play an increasingly prominent hospitality role worldwide.

Corinthia Hotels is currently researching future opportunities in leading destinations including Paris, Moscow, Rome and New York.  This represents a dramatic move for the luxury Corinthia Hotels brand, which to date has been building up a five-star portfolio in key European destinations and in the
Mediterranean basin.

The Corinthia Lake Resort & Spa in Romania, due to open in 2011, the Corinthia Budapest Gate & Residences, opening 2012 are both on schedule and plans for the construction of a second hotel in Libya, the Corinthia Hotel Benghazi are at an advanced stage.

The first phase of the Corinthia Beach Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, the Tiran Hotel opened in July this year and the resort is expected to be completed in 2010 with the opening of the adjoining Tiran Residence and the Corinthia Resort Hotel.

Commenting on Corinthia’s development plans, chief executive officer and managing director, Tony Potter said:  “It is particularly encouraging for me, especially this year, to be able to confirm our growth plans. This year we have also completed the total renovation of the Corinthia Hotel St. Petersburg, which now offers the largest conference facilities in the city; refurbished the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa in Malta and added a state-of-the-art Spa at the Corinthia Hotel Lisbon. Plans are also underway for our major rebranding project and new positioning in the market place.”

Corinthia’s joint venture with Wyndham Hotel Group continues to provide Corinthia an extended reach worldwide.  In addition to the Corinthia Hotels that form part of the Wyndham Grand Collection, CHI also plan to operate a number of Wyndham and Ramada branded hotels that are currently under development, these include the Wyndham Port Lixus Resort in Morocco due to open in 2011, the Ramada Abu Dhabi Mafraq opening 2010, the Ramada Abu Dhabi Beach opening 2011 and the Ramada Hotel & Suites – Jumeira Beach, Dubai opening 2010.
